Press Release Body: Gen Keller loads her brush with paints and begins transforming her canvass. But this is no ordinary canvass..this canvass is looking back at her. She is a face painter with a flair for wild colors and full face designs. Gen recently had her work published in "Illusions", an international magazine for face and body artists. The magazine showcased this new comer's beautiful and unique style, full of vibrant eye-catching color. You can view her photo gallery on her website www.SparklesDesigns.com. Gen Keller lives in the suburbs of NYC and started her own company, Sparkles Face & Body Designs, to offer parents a unique and affordable option for birthday parties. Gen says "I do more than the traditional cheek art, I transform them into a fantasy character..the only complaint I ever receive from the parents is that their kids refuse to wash it off at the end of the day!" Face painting is one of the oldest forms of art that has been used by many cultures to empower, disguise or express one's self. Modern face painting has climbed to a new level and is increasing in popularity. Gen enjoys watching the children use their imagination after being painted. "I love watching a party get taken over by tigers, crocodiles, puppies and princesses. I'm in the business of face painting imaginations" says Gen. Gen also points out that it's important to only use water based cosmetic "paints" that are intended to be used on the skin. Using acrylic, tempera craft paints or anything not intended for the skin can cause a variety of issues such as irritations or allergic reactions. "It's important to find a face painter that uses the proper products and practices proper hygiene to insure the kids have a safe and fun experience" Gen adds. Gen says "People always ask me if I've been painting for a long time, I have no art background and I have only been painting for about two years but I have decades of experience putting on make-up...does that count?"
